Facilities
at the British School in Cairo are modern and varied. They include an
all-weather, heated swimming pool, three Computer Suites, two Science
Laboratories and a preparation room, a well-stocked Library for Primary and Key
Stage Three, a separate IGCSE Library and Teacher Resource Room, sports courts
for tennis, basketball, soccer and volleyball, and an Assembly Hall.
Classrooms
are all air-conditioned and fitted with Smart Boards, usually catering for
between 20 and 25 pupils, with both a teacher and bilingual co-teacher present in
all year groups up to, and including, Year 8. Pupils from Year 1 and upwards
have access to a School Cafeteria selling a variety of hot and cold meals,
snacks and beverages.
A School
Swimming Academy is run all year round on the school premises, with an
additional extra sports academy, according to seasonal demand.
School buses are
air-conditioned and serve nearly all areas of Cairo and its suburbs. Each bus
is supervised by a Bus Matron to take care of the children and monitor
behaviour and punctuality
